Hemmingodden in Ballstad in Lofoten is one of the most famous fishing villages in the region. Ballstad is located about 80 km west of Svolvær and 10 km west of the municipal center Leknes in Vestvågøy. The nature and coastal environment, in Ballstad is unique in its kind and is an excellent place for recreation, relaxation and adventure.

You can experience Lofoten from multiple directions, either from Å (Moskenes) to Svolvær, or from Svolvær and the opposite direction. Ballstad is located in the middle of Lofoten and is perfect as base to explore the whole region. A passenger boat between Ballstad, Stamsund and Nusfjord will let you avoid many miles on E10 and the undersea tunnel, at the same time as you can enjoy Lofoten from the seaside.

Ballstad is one of the most famous fishing villages in Lofoten and has a good and spacious harbor divided in the areas Hattvika, Ballstad-island, Ballstad-land and Kremmarvika. Ballstad is still an active fishing village with a large fishing fleet and fish factories. On Ballstad is also Ballstad Heia which is a mountain that is easy to climb to get fantastic view of the cwhole area. Nonstinden is the highest point with 459 meters and the highest mountain in Ballstad is Skottind with its 671 m which also can be climbed on foot.

Hemmingodden is located on Ballstad-Island and consists of 3 main buildings where 4 cabins are located in the older part while cabin 5 is built in the latean the late -90 century. Cabin No. 6 - "Lofotbua", is located in the facility Ballstad Brygge and was completed in 2008. All Cabins has its own kitchen, private bathroom with shower / WC and everything else needed for a pleasant stay at Ballstad. Annebua and Lofotbua and is well suited for two families where Lofotebua also maintain very high standard.

All Cabins are situated by the sea with private quay. On Ballstad-Island you will find a café, restaurant, gallery, a small shop to buy fishing equipment togehter with a supermarket. All within a radius of about 600m from all cabins. Every year in early July it is also arranged Ballstad-days with many aktiviterer for large and small, spread over several days.
